Access a variety of educational content

Lairik is a free app that contains downloadable educational materials and answer keys for most grade levels. Video-based content is included, too, though they’re all unplayable — which is unfortunate since parents and teachers can use videos to supplement learning and engage visual learners.

Although Lairik can be used by Indians and overseas users with Gmail accounts, some topics tackle the intricacies of Indian society and government. Given the amount of content the app has, a search button would be a nice feature to have to make topic navigation faster and less tedious. Thankfully, it doesn’t bombard your screen with ads.

View and download materials

Educational apps had made it easier for individuals to access learning materials from their fingertips. In Samagra Shiksha Manipur’s Lairik, there are videos targeted at various basic education levels — from pre-primary to Grade 12. Depending on the grade, the aforementioned media content tackles basic mathematics, English poetry, sociology, and many more. Unfortunately, they’re unplayable as tapping the play button will prompt you to select a grade level.

The “Questions” tab does not have content, too. The “Solutions” section, meanwhile, contains downloadable answer keys to exercises, which teachers can use as references for creating their own pen-and-paper activities or hasten the grading process. The answer keys include the seals of the Government of Manipur’s Department of Education and the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur. You can view and write your feedback, too.

In “Notes,” you’ll be able to view downloadable grade-appropriate handouts on a wide variety of subjects. Sadly, Grades three to five do not have said copies of handouts — which can put off users who are teaching at those levels. On the bright side, though, the app doesn’t require payment or subscription membership to access all the learning materials. Most importantly, it’s ad-free for seamless usage.

Be mindful of the drawbacks

Lairik provides you not only a plethora of grade-appropriate handouts but also answer keys to exercises. However, the unplayable videos and the absence of a search button are its biggest drawbacks. On the flip side, everything is free so you don’t need to pay for a subscription membership. The app is not region-locked, too, which is a plus for users who are not living in India.

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
